To help make trips as safe as possible, train
stations in North Carolina adhere to Amtrak’s security measures, which cover passenger
identification, personal
safety and other policies.
Ticket agents are required to remain vigilant and report suspicious
activity. Passengers must present a valid photo ID upon request from an Amtrak employee.
At the station and on-board trains, passengers are
urged to report immediately any suspicious behavior to police, station staff or
a train crew member. They can also call Amtrak’s 24-hour call center at
1-800-331-0008 or dial 911.
Carry-on bags must be visibly tagged with the name
and address of the passenger and certain types of items are strictly prohibited on board as
checked or carry-on baggage.
Additional restrictions apply. More information
about Amtrak safety and security is available at
Amtrak's
website.
